Primary Pilates Education: Fletcher Foundational Teacher Training Program
Teaching Style: Compassionate, informative, fun. My goal is to meet clients where they are presently in their bodies and movement journey and help guide them toward accomplishing their goals and improving the Mind- Body- Spirit connection. I work in a calm, intuitive and respectful way. I also believe that movement should be fun and joyful even if I’m giving you a challenging workout.
Additional Education/Training: BS in Psychology and a minor in Dance from Appalachian State University, Classical Pilates certification, a Master of Arts in Dance Movement Therapy and Counseling, and Graduate Laban Certification in Movement Analysis from Columbia College Chicago.
I taught at a Fletcher Studio in Chicago for many years before taking my practice internationally to India and Australia. I had the pleasure to study under Ron Fletcher himself and am honored to bring his life's work to my clients.
Movement specialty: Over the past 12 years, I've worked with a wide array of clients. I enjoy working with clients who are healing from back injuries and who are pre- or post-natal. I've also worked with clients looking to improve their athletic performance, or who just want to look and feel better in their body.

Kristine's Pilates Journey
While studying dance in undergraduate school, I was able to take Pilates as a course. After the first semester, I decided to get certified in Classical Pilates. Even though I was a dancer, through Pilates I found my “core” and “internal strength,” and everyone noticed my posture change drastically. I realized how many wonderful benefits Pilates brought to my life, and I wanted to learn more and share the method with others. After teaching Classical Pilates for a few years, I was introduced to Fletcher Pilates; I learned a new way to breathe, a deeper understanding of the work and a love for the fluidity and creativity that Ron Fletcher brought to Pilates. Immediately, I wanted to become a Fletcher teacher and expand my love for the work.
10 Questions with Kristine
Coffee or tea? Coffee. I’ve been a coffee addict since living in Melbourne, Australia where there is a huge coffee culture. This is one thing I love about Seattle--everyone’s love of coffee & cafes!
Favorite Pilates movement? Wunda Chair Reverse arm press, bilateral and unilateral with twist.
Favorite tunes for self-practice? My breath.
I take Pilates into my life by: I usually start my day by doing a roll-up to get out of bed to mobilize my spine and awaken my core for the day. I often find myself using my breath to center myself and connect to my center if my kids are giving me a hard time. I have an old back injury, and I need to be aware of my core and moving functionally throughout the day to keep my back healthy and pain-free.
Interests outside of Pilates: Chasing my two boys around playgrounds, traveling the world, scuba diving, and baking.
Favorite book, movie, or TV series: Ocean documentaries, Suits, and Game of Thrones.

Dream day off in Seattle: A perfect day would be a beautiful sunny summer day where I would explore the tidal pools with my two boys and husband. I would then take time to myself to enjoy the beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains and practice Pilates while enjoying the views. I would finish off the day with a glass of wine with friends while we watch the sunset over Seattle.
When I’m not wearing Fletcher Black, I wear: I like to be active throughout the day, so I'm usually wearing colorful athletic clothes!
How do you want your clients to feel when they leave a session with you? I hope my clients leave my sessions feeling better than they did when they walked in. My goal is that they are standing taller, and feeling more connected, centered and energized for the day ahead.
